Research Area

We are working in the field of microtissue engineering, a unique and new research area, which integrates biomaterials, microfabrication technologies and mechanobiology to engineer microscale 3D tissues or microenvironments recapitulating the physiological and architectural features of native tissue niche with well-defined precision and bio-mimicry. Microtissue engineering provides powerful tools and solutions as well as theoretical models for cell/tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, drug screening and pathology study. We are working in highly inter-disciplinary and innovation-driven arena, providing unlimited opportunities for creative and ambitious minds. Some of our dreams include building functional liver/cardiovascular tissues; achieving better cell-based regenerative therapy to cure liver/cardiovascular/ diseases; discovering new pathological mechanisms and anti-fibrotic intervention strategies to alleviate chronic fibrosis-related symptoms.    .
