Formation of stress granule is an important post-transcriptional and translational regulatory mechanism. Studies in mammalian cells have associated stress granule with neurodegenerative diseases, cancer cell death, virus infection, immunity and inflammation. However, the function of stress granule in plants is largely unknown. We integrate cell biology, molecular biology, proteomics, genomics and bioinformatics approaches to investigate the formation mechanism, biological function and the evolution significance of stress granule. To facilitate the high throughput and quantitative studies of molecular interactions, we are also involved in the development of novel nanosensor to replace surface plasmon resonance.
